Episode 46: Growing a Brewery – An interview with Nicole Carrier, founder of Throwback Brewery

In this episode we talked with Nicole Carrier, co-founder of Throwback Brewery, New Hampshire’s only 100% women-owned brewery about growing a brewery. Nicole shares with us how she and her co-founder started the brewery, how they funded the venture and their expansion from a nano-brewery to full brewhouse located on an historic farm property. Nicole talks about what it takes to run a craft brewing operation and full restaurant on an historic farm. Nicole also shares her experiences being a female brewery owner in a male dominated industry.

Nicole Carrier

Nicole Carrier of Throwback Brewery - Growing a BreweryNicole is co-founder of Throwback Brewery — New Hampshire’s only 100% women-owned brewery. Like many co-founders, Nicole wears many hats including Marketing Guru, Chief Realist, and card-carrying M.B.A, social media, technology, and business strategy. Nicole and Annette Lee started Throwback in 2010 as a way to combine their two passions — brewing great beer and supporting local agriculture. Before starting Throwback Brewery, Nicole home brewed for over 10 years. Nicole has a B.A. from Dartmouth College in Economics and Math, and an M.B.A. from the Tuck School at Dartmouth. She is also a former IBM executive. She is currently President of the New Hampshire Brewers Association.
